Majority of females with a life-long experience of CAH and parents do not consider females with CAH to be intersex

Introduction To assess opinions of females with CAH, and parents about designating this population “intersex,” particularly in legislation genital surgery during childhood. Methods We conducted a mixed-methods (quantitative qualitative) anonymous cross-sectional online survey CAH (46XX, 16+years old) independently recruited girls (2019–2020) diagnosed first year life from the United States. A multidisciplinary team drafted collaboration women parents. Results Of 57 participating (median age: 39 years, 75.5% ≥25year olds had post-secondary degree), all classical 93.0% underwent at median 1–2 years old. Discussion Echoing previously published disagreement clinically intersex, majority oppose legal designation. Differing among strengthen concern one-size-fits-all childhood surgery.
